A Happy Tablescape for Thanksgiving

When I came across this cute little sign at the Becky Vizard headquarters in Saint Joseph, Louisiana, I knew that was going to be my mantra, no matter what life or other people brought my way. I wanted my Thanksgiving table to reflect that this year. … HAPPY!

When I saw the tablecloth, I knew that would be the jumping off place. I love the vivid Indian block print in colors of marigold, bubblegum pink, sage green and aubergine.

Being a more casual table this year, I wanted to complete the look with some bamboo flatware. I’ve been looking for a long time for some with real bamboo handles, rather than plastic, and I found these on Amazon.

These acorn topiaries took some time, but I thought they turned out so cute and unique.

All you need is a styrofoam cone base, sheet moss, a glue gun, a bucket of foraged acorns and some patience!

I used Super Moss and here’s the link. It’s a large box and comes in so handy for a multitude of uses and projects.

Painted plastic and real pumpkins with glossy craft paint

Add a base of cut magnolia branches and POPS of color from painted pumpkins.

Mini Canvases on tiny easels serve
as place cards

These mini canvases and easels from WalMart’s new craft section were perfect for colorful custom placecards

I painted them lightly with a brush of gold metallic paint, printed out a watercolor painting I did on some canvas paper and cut to fit. A touch of glue to adhere to the surface and there you go
